This is me.
Hi, I’m William Varsalona — Experience Designer, Problem Solver, and Explorer.
Welcome to my portfolio! At the heart of my work lies a belief that great design isn’t just functional — it’s transformative. I craft experiences that engage, inspire, and connect people, whether through the immersive worlds of gaming or the seamless interactions of professional software. My goal is simple: to craft digital environments that feel as intuitive as they are impactful, making complex systems accessible and exciting for everyone.
Born and raised in Ramsey, NJ, I nurtured my passion for design and technology at Quinnipiac University, where I earned a degree in Game Design and Development, with a minor in Computer Science. Throughout my time at QU, I collaborated on creative projects like Underdevelopment: The Paper Prototype, Badmin, Barbershop Simulator VRUnderdevelopment and Primal Defense, where I explored new ways to tell stories, engage players, and design interactive worlds. My love for gaming remains central to my approach, but I always knew that to make a broader impact, I needed to expand my skill set and gain experience in the professional design world.
In 2021, I made a strategic decision to join TCS/Digitate, stepping into the world of UX design to build my career and refine my craft. Although the shift from game design to UX design was a new direction, it was one that felt aligned with my passion for creating meaningful user experiences. Designing HoloLens applications for autonomous enterprises gave me the opportunity to apply my creativity and problem-solving skills in an entirely new context, and it quickly became clear that UX design was the natural evolution of my gaming background. The principles of user engagement, storytelling, and immersion that I honed through game design were just as valuable in crafting intuitive, enterprise-level experiences.
After two and a half years with Digitate, I was honored to be chosen to redesign KPMG’s audit platform, modernizing their workflows to create a more dynamic, user-centered experience. Along the way, I also earned my AWS Cloud Practitioner certification, which deepened my understanding of cloud technologies and further sharpened my design toolkit.
My journey as both a designer and an adventurer has shaped my philosophy that great design is about more than just solving problems — it’s about creating experiences that foster connections and inspire people to think bigger. My travels to 12 countries and countless cities and music festivals across the U.S. have reinforced my belief that the world is full of opportunities to learn and grow. Every new culture, every new experience is an invitation to expand your perspective — and that’s exactly what I aim to do through my designs.
Every project I take on is an adventure, and I approach each challenge with the mindset that the best solutions come from pushing beyond the expected and embracing new possibilities. Whether it’s a game or an enterprise application, my ultimate goal is to build experiences that not only solve problems but create lasting connections and inspire users to reach for more.
Let’s create something extraordinary together.
